“If there’s a book you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”

— Toni Morrison

Whenever Big Questions overwhelm me, I turn to books and writers in search of answers and equilibrium. Sometimes I can’t find what I’m looking for. In that case, I follow Toni Morrison’s advice: “If there’s a book you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” This has worked for me because I’ve always loved to write. It’s how I figure things out. I love words; love seeing where my pen takes me. Two books have resulted from this process.

Notes from Planet Widow (my most recent book) came about because I needed to make sense of the incomprehensible experience of losing my beloved husband Jack. Writing my story helped restore my sense of wholeness within the altered context of being on my own.

It is a joy for me to share my musings with you.
